Sintel the third blender movie now available

Many of you are aware that Blender is my modeller/renderer of choice and they have been for the past few years pushing forward the developlment by a series of open movies.

Space Marines in LEGO

Very cool Flickr set of our favourite space fascists but made out of LEGO. Now if there were Space Marine minifigs, how cool would that be.

Worlds Largest Treehouse

Apparently Jebus told him to do it.

Looking at the photos I'd argue it's not a tree house any more tho it may have started as one as it is not in the tree much of it touches the ground. it's more a house with a tree in it rather than a tree house or house in a tree.

Since the new L4D1/2 DLC is out this week perhaps international Zombies this weekend?

The title sort of covers it but I was thinking if people are about perhaps a play through of the new DLC might be nice this coming saturday/sunday with the usual 8pm sort of slot to allow for time zones :D

Random Update

An update on various things that have been going on.

Holiday in Tahoe and SF:

Civ 5 - Explain it to a n00b

I spent far too long this weekend not really understanding Civ 5. While it downloaded I attempted to read the manual (all 230+ pages of it), and got a basic idea of combat, play mechanics etc etc. Did the basic tutorial, and won it in about 10 minutes.

Scotland - 4 Months in

I've been living in this city for a fair while now, so it's high time I blogged about it. Also if I don't do something other than Civ for a bit, I'm going to end up trying to settle the field out the back of the flat...

Things I like:

No One Likes M. Night Shyamalan

What might be going through increasingly obvious Twist movie maker M. Night Shyamalan about his career trend.

Might be but I suspect he's too busy counting the huge piles of money he made from Sixth sense that set him up to keep making movies forever no mater how crap they turn out.

[yt]Panda Cheese adverts

A set of adverts for panda brand cheese (not made of or with any panda's as far as I know) where if you don't have the cheese a panda shows up and fucks you up. There tag line is "never say no to panda" quite funny and dark.

Intel's new money making strategy lock existing features then charge for them to be unlocked

This is a completely weird move taking working chips then hardware locking out some of their cache or hyper threading then charging you an extra fee to unlock them.

It's basically akin to the current trend in games where you have to buy some of the original content as DLC
