All games to be played using the 2-player scenario Mid War. The Home player is to set up the game as below. The Home player plays as the Fokker Dr.I. The Away player plays as the Sopwith Camel.

The Game Settings are;

  • Medium Board (10x12 Hexes)

  • Advanced Blue Max rules version
  • Default Positions
  • Time Out - 5 Days
  • Password - "lackof"

As a comment to this page a link to the game should be added, and a note of which is the Home player, and which is the Away player. The Home player should do this.

Once the game is complete the comment should be edited to display the scores (as determined below).
(I will then update the spreadsheet to display the scores)

Scoring

Home Win by Kill - 1 point
Away Win by Kill - 2 points

Home Win by Honorable Exit (ahead on points) - ½ point
Away Win by Honorable Exit (ahead on points) - 1½ point

Loss by Honorable Exit (behind on points) - ½ point
(winner scores as per Honorable Exit)

Flawless Win (no damage chits taken) by Kill - +1 point

In the case of a draw (either both planes eliminated at same time, or exit at same time) tie-break on points. If still tied ½ point each. Win on points scores as per Honorable Exits , though no points for loser.

A non-honorable exit counts as a kill.

I dumped all the game logs

I dumped all the game logs into Excel, and then just did some parsing to work out the player names, actions and damage...then it was just a case of writing some sums. Now I have all the parsing logic it will take no time to do it again (Byrnie, if you check the spreadsheet you'll see the links bit takes you to a page where the full logs are displayed, so I just had to do 42 cut'n'pastes).

It would appear there is a lot of blood in my fights, whether it's my own or someone elses.

The one that really stood

The one that really stood out when I was doing it was who took most/least damage. Most people were in the 70-80 area, whereas Fish was at about half the next person at 31. Given he won so convincingly, you have to draw the conclusion that the key thing is flying defensively.
