We had an impromptu L4D sesh last night and it was great fun. Leaving Fish to die was particularly hilarious as Pete tried to save him. Pity EMW had set fire to the wharf, else he might have had a chance.
What would be very cool would be to do an 8 player (versus) evening. We really need 8 people, so dig deep. Ah go on, it's bloody hilarious, you know you want to.

you're forgetting when we
you're forgetting when we left him to die on blood harvest too, though to be fair that was the games decision more than ours. Also with the flaming wharf on dead toll, I don't think that was my fault. There may have been a object placed on the wharf and something may have happened to it, and that object could have been a can of petrol and what happened to it might have been an autoshotgun blast from my gun. All I know is I kept the horde at bay and survived and at the end of the day isn't that what really matters. This was a case of literal friendly fire.
Besides I'm not carrying petrol on my person around you lot you have a habit of shooting it while I'm still holding it.

Twas a superb laugh. One thing that did come out from it was that:
If you have 3 on one team and 2 on the other, it's easier with 2 because when you leave a bot to die, the other bot helps them out. So, you can end up working as two pairs. Which is better than the three, who leaves their bot to die. In a very real sense.
I think there was only once or twice where there was a whitewash, esp with 3 on 3.
I think there should be a special mention for the time when it was:
Fish + Byrn vs Me, Pete + EMW playing blood harvest
The level with the train carriage, right before the last level. Fish and Byrn were playing the survivors and we had stuffed them in the tunnel as you exit. Just getting out of there was a mission. We made life stupidly hard for them all the way out but they just kept going. It was a delight to watch, they were working very hard indeed. They didn't manage to get to the house but I felt they deserved to.

I dunno...with 3 players we also did better. I think the reason was that when we mugged the 2 bots we made absolutely sure they were down and out before heading off to mob the players. I think it's really all down to how the invaders work together...bot's are not great at calling for help (help, help, help, help), but you do have to fully take them down, not just ruffle their feathers and then move on...

Agreed. I think the optimum is to have four vs four. 3 vs 3 is also good and 3 vs 2 is ok but not for a whole night.

I think when me and Pete went 2 player first time the two team scenario took both sides by suprise. Me and Pete left the two bots assuming they'd die, them turning up at the safe house was a very unexpected. The second time round the three player side was alert to the danger and we didn't get away with it.
That train tunnel was a nightmare, every time we thought we were out we'd turn round and there would be one survivor getting his face chewed off. I'm surprised we made it out at all.

I am not sure for how long we can keep playing L4D without the DLC. Some people online have found new ways of playing it (pistols only, leave safe house one at a time and see who gets furthest, no torches, running backwards etc) but we really need that DLC. Fortunately, we're off on holiday, so hopefully it'll be ready for us when we get back.
