Some years ago I spotted a site called experimental gameplay (the site still exists in roughly the same form thought it is now open to others http://www.experimentalgameplay.com), it was a student project from some people at the Entertainment Technology Center at Carnegie Mellon University. They produced small prototype games in a short space of time that toyed with different types of gameplay.

A really cool Rock paper Shotgun interview with the father of Elite, Frontier and the destroyer of weekends!

Oh god, it's reality following fiction.

The Developer Quantic Dream have been working on this very photorealistic game for the ps3. They showed a very impressive tech demo last year and have just released some in game footage.
Some bits of the video look amazing and there's defiantly a bit of uncanny valley about the thing and the characters lip sync looked a bit dodgy at the start there. Still very impressive.

I've been looking at replacing my machine for a while now as it's been showing signs of slow agonising death for quite some time. When it gets to the point that texture and vertex corruption in games are a good day it's time to take the thing out to the back yard and shoot it.

The original hack and slashathon is back. The much imitated Diablo is set to make a return with it's much awaited third part. It has been some 8 years since diablo 2 but so far it looks like much what you'd expect some new classes fancier graphics but under the hood it looks so far much like the previous games in content.
No word on a release date yet

Let's hope it's more speedball 2 than Madden '06.

You've probably already seen it but it's a goody.
Baron, listen carefully at the end! You won't believe your ears at the suggestion.

Ooooh, my PC spec is still in the OK band. Nice.
An added POV from Rock, Paper, Shotgun, a PC blog from some of the writers at PC Gamer UK (my fave game mag when I still bought them).
