Mum's 65th is over. My B Cat course is over. GenCon is over. Benanna's wedding is over. Outlaws will be back to Cambodia soon. All the big things this summer needed to yield have done so. It's time for a new plan and this is it.

It's been a long time coming but I've finally got my sticky fingers on the Icar Elements book. The quality of the print is very high indeed. I think I need to improve the DPI on the pictures but the book itself rocks! 88 pages for £10 and then £3 postage and packing. Hurrah!
You can see on this one that my name is a bit too close to the bottom. Easy to fix.

A post about things I'm excited about at the moment. Includes jQuery, a fab javascript library for simplifying common techniques, dBug for visualising variables in PHP, an online HTML image map creator, a javascript timeline visualiser and someone's running Icar in play by post!

It's my pleasure to announce that I will be running two Icar games at GenCon UK 2008. Click to read more and see a nice pic I did.

Just been chatting to Si Crocker on facebook. It appears that he's a big chap in the Games Club Network and he's in charge of getting gamers to GenCon.
He worked his sweet talking face on me again and convinced me to run Icar at GenCon. Not to the scale than before.
What do I run?

In the current Icar game, I have a system for the characters to take drugs. Each drug has a set of emotions attached to them. You take a drug, roll on a table just for that drug and pick up an emotion. The emotions are then roleplayed out and also have some statistic effects. This system is hilarious and works really well.

I get up to a lot. One weekend in three, I pop up to Henlow and go flying (when I say Henlow, I mean RAF Henlow, not Baron's house. His house is really cool but I think I'd be using hyperbole to suggest you could take off in it). The weekends I don't do that, chances are I'm going to end up driving to a family gathering.

I am about to embark on making up a series of images for Icar. These will be "Automatons", human-like robots that the players will need to buy. Unfortunately, I can't draw. But I can trace. What I would like is permission to use pictures of you lovely people. I shall choose a flattering one and then trace round it to create the image to represent the Automaton type.

I'm chuffed, it's a lovely review.
Scroll down to the 15th September 2007.
