The Tesla Roadster is a Lotus Elise-based electric car with a range of around 250 miles and (initially) a 0-60 of around 5.7 seconds. The new transmission being worked on (which will be supplied to all buyers) should make that less than 4 seconds. At $100,000 its not cheap, but it is fast, quiet, and depending on where your electricity comes from, greenish.
