Fascinating video on how the technology developed by Disney to do snow simulations for Frozen was used to perhaps finally explain the Dyatlov Pass Incident.
If you're not familiar with Frozen its about family who hate a snow man who ... no wait wrong piece of this ... the Dyatlov pass incident it took place in Soviet Russia in Feb 1959 where nine very experienced cross country skiers died on a mountainside in extremely mysterious circumstances. Their camp was found abandoned with their tent slashed open but from the inside suggesting they'd had to escape something in the night yet the footprints leading away from the tent showed all nine of the people walking away from it. The bodies were found with a lot of wounds and some badly mutilated but without any of their protective clothing and some of them wearing clothing from other members of the party. They were also found to be radio active.
The investigation was also shut down fast and since then because of the unexplained series of events it has been the subject of conspiracy theories.
Now thanks to the simulation tech developed to make snow in Frozen we may finally have an explanation of what happened
