So I was off to Sea World this weekend for something to do and when I got finished parking I noticed something odd about the change I'd gotten from the guy on the gate. In amongst the ones and a five I had received in exchange for my 20 was a 2 dollar note.
I spent most of the weekend playing Shadow Complex an Xbox Live Arcade or XBLA title written by developer Chair based on some fiction by Orson Scott Card of Enders Game Fame.
So I got back from holidays and needed something to stop me falling asleep so I could roughly resync to gmt (as much as I ever do at any rate). Steam loaded and I spotted that Will was playing champions online and I thought hmmm why not and bought it.
I'm in America on business and given we were spending the weekend and had no work to do we decided a jaunt to Las Vegas was in order. It's a mere 290 mile trip through scorching desert heat and since I'm not driving it's not too arduous beyond 4hrs of sitting.
It's been a while since there have been any big games but the past couple of weeks have had several big titles hit one after the other.
It's been nice to have some titles to get my teeth into even if it means I don't have time for other things for a week or so.
On the weekend I spent some time with an old friend. You know how it is when you meet up with people you've not seen for years and the passage of time is very apparent, well that'a the way this was. They'd made some changes to their appearance added some new twists to their look, but their sound samples still suffered from low bit rate compression artefacts.
Cast your mind back to the late 90's a glorious time of internet boom and an innocent time when I once bought 36 pints of beer form the student bar for 20 quid and stacked them in a box.
I've been playing quite a few games recently that are newish and thought I'd go over them.
I finished Fable 2 for the second time over the weekend, it's a terrifically fun game which offers unique game choices, like marrying a zombie witch reanimated using mad science by a crazy obsessed grave digger then using a potion to change your sex and for some reason no one (undead wife included) noticing.
Well so far my job is safe looks like if things don't pick up by 2H (American companies love there H's and Q's for some reason) then things may turn back to redundancies again but so far so good.
