Well so far my job is safe looks like if things don't pick up by 2H (American companies love there H's and Q's for some reason) then things may turn back to redundancies again but so far so good.

As redundancy continues its path for me, I have experienced one of the strangest stages.

Leaving work.

Although technically I am still employed until the 6th of April, I left work on Tuesday to start my gardening leave. How would I describe that day....

We are approaching the time of new year resolutions. Gill has gone and made hers all public, so I suppose I'd better go and do the same. I started doing these 3 years ago, and they have included such fun things as "Run a half-marathon", "get in shape", and "buy a house".

Not wanting to go into competition with the VDM Christmas Eve, there's enough people knocking about to hold another party. Some Wii-ing, quiet drinkies will be happening over at ours on NYE.

I know Fish and Byrn are up for it. Who else fancies it? Accomodation available, of course.

You can spot a bachelor house by the games room. I have one...it leads a schizophrenic life as a table football room, a library, and a board gaming den. For the boardgames I have some large pieces of MDF, covered in felt, that are tied to the top of the Foosball table. It's good in that it is 5 foot square, and can cope with any game...even one of fantasy Flights big-box specials.

It's been a funny couple of days, yesterday we had the work Christmas party in the evening we also had a surprise company meeting in the morning, which announced that we were being taken over by an American firm. Today there was a meeting where they said there will be redundancies ... Merry Christmas everyone!

The PS3 has had a bit of a rough road and with it still being the most expensive of the consoles and most people using it almost exclusively as a bluray player it's not really living up to its gaming pedigree. But then galloping on the horizon out of the sun comes two figures! Are they heroes? Are they villains?
